A detailed experimental study of the magnetic properties of the ferrimagnet Mn:Fe(1-x)Cr(x)Ni(1-y)Co(y)O(3) x 0.04 is presented. Magnetization and electrical resistivity measurements at room temperature show a large decrease in the magnetic moment and in the resistivity around x = 0.8. Above this value, the magnetization follows a nearly linear dependence on the magnetic field and the magnetic response of the sample is diamagnetic. The occurrence of a ferrimagnetic state, formed by the anti- and ferromagnetic components, is confirmed by X-ray diffraction and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism measurements. The results show that the magnetic transition line crosses the composition line of the sample in the vicinity of x=0.8. Magnetic measurements in applied magnetic fields show only one critical temperature for both transitions, namely T(C)= 33 K. The low-temperature magnetic behaviour shows an upturn to higher values of the applied magnetic field, indicating that these are not simple paramagnetic contributions. This experimental situation contrasts with the results of the theoretical calculations performed for this system, showing that at low values of x, the first-order magnetic transition is very weak.[Metastatic lymph nodes in the surgical treatment of oral cavity cancer].
The authors analyse the frequency, the diagnostic value of the histological examination, and the therapeutic results obtained by treatment of 118 patients with oral cancer without distant metastases (N0). The group under study has comprised 90% of patients with oral squamous cell carcinomas, 10% with leukoplakia. The control group has consisted of 96 patients with the histologically proved metastases wh
